Let us continue to keep Patti and Deborah in our prayers as they care of the health and homecare of Patti's dad.

In order to help them, please add your comments below to share with Patti and Deborah what you remember from our discussions and meeting last night. Also include what you learned or thought was especially important and any other questions/comments you may have.

Thanks.

We discussed the video we had watched the last Wednesday that we met before Thanksgiving break. We also talked about four main things that Mass and Thanksgiving have in common, which are the gathering (Introductory Rite), sharing a meal (Liturgy of the the Eucharist), sharing a story (Liturgy of the Word) and departing/being sent home inspired (Concluding Rite).

Good short summary. A note though, remember that the Liturgy of the Word is before the Liturgy of the Eucharist, so try to remember the sequence as: We gather, we share stories, we share a meal, we depart. Also recall that many of our other social gatherings (like meeting up with friends to see a movie or go out for the evening) also follow this pattern. So if we can take the pattern from our everyday lives to heart, we can feel more comfortable with the Mass and hopefully feel more "holy" about our everyday rituals outside of the church in our ordinary lives as well.

I believe it is a wholesome story to gather together, share stories, share a meal, and depart. It is also good to take this with you in your every day life. I will try to refine my life with this story.
