Passover Begins Sundown on March 25, 2013

The Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation has annually celebrated its High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) at Christ the Redeemer. These celebrations take place in the Fall. During our Lenten/Easter Seasons, the Jewish feast of Passover is celebrated. Sometimes the Easter and Passover dates are very close to each other on the calendar. Other times, they are separate by several weeks.
This year, Passover begins on sundown on the Monday after Palm Sunday. For Catholics, this means that the great feast of the Passover which is recalled in our Scriptures is something that literally is going during our Holy Week. Our Holy Thursday gathering to commemorate the Lord's Supper brings us close to this Jewish celebration. In the Passion Narrative of the evangelist John for Good Friday, he even links the trial of Jesus and Crucifixion to the exact same time that the lambs were being offered up in the Temple in preparation for Passover.

Below are some short videos taken from a record album popular when I was a child. The soundtrack came from a record player and the album contained the Bible stories in a comic book format. These youtube videos recreate this format by providing still shots of each comic book action cell. The ideal age group for appreciating this is probably ages 7-12.
